On CNYE, we were sitting in Brads apartment watching Mrs Doubtfire. When all of a sudden, we started hearing fireworks all over the city, which were so close they sounded like bombs dropping.. We ran outside, and the park at the end of our street was lighting off MAGNIFICENT fireworks! The kind you never see in California, but the kind you see at the biggest firework shows in the Northwest. The following day we left Taipei on bus, heading south to Tainan.
